Partial and Full Dentures

What are dentures?

Dentures are commonly known as false teeth and can be used to replace damaged or missing teeth. They can be part or full dentures.

Dentures should be well fitted and comfortable for you to wear everyday. Contact us if you have any pain or problems with your dentures. You should take dentures out at night and clean them regularly.

Why get dentures?

Dentures can help you to continue to eat and drink normally. They can also help to maintain your appearance if some of your teeth are missing or have become damaged.

What types of dentures are available?

There are two main types of removable dentures available at Newington Dental Care:

full dentures - These are made from plastic and are used when all of the teeth in one jaw are missing.

partial dentures - are made when there are some teeth missing, but otherwise natural teeth remain in your jaw. The partial denture replaces only the teeth that are missing. These dentures can be made from plastic, metal or a combination of both. Partial dentures usually have little metal clips which rest or grip comfortably on the natural teeth to hold the denture in the right place. It is important for your remaining teeth to be in good health, to give the right level of support the part denture requires.

Custom made dentures

Dentures can be made for you by Newington Dental Care.

Our dentures are made specially to fit your mouth. This may mean several dental visits before the denture is finished to make sure that accurate measurements are taken and the denture fits you really well.

A well-made denture with a good fit is a cost effective and long-term means of replacing lost teeth compared to other options such as dental implants. Our dentists in conjunction with a laboratory can make, repair or refurbish a denture prosthesis to suit your needs.

Dentures provided by NDC utilize local Australian dental laboratories with certification of Therapeutic Goods of Australia (TGA) approval for all materials used.
