Newington Dental Care now has available the latest technology in the STA “Wand”, a computerised local anaesthetic delivery system. The advantages for you and your family are:

• A more comfortable injection, the computer can deliver the anaesthetic at a rate often below the pain threshold.
• A more accurate injection, the lightweight and slim wand allows a better tactile feel for the dentist and the computer can assist in locating the target site. Greater accuracy can mean a reduced need for another injection and a more effective anaesthesia allowing comfort during dental procedures.
• The ability to numb a single tooth with the STA technique, where indicated, the anaesthetic can numb the tooth worked on only, without the lip and tongue being affected.
• The sight of the large metal syringe is now replaced by a slim “Wand”, reducing fear especially for children.
